Beyond Excel: How OpenClaw Transforms Finance Workflows
I used OpenClaw with Xero to analyze accounting records, prepare business reports, and draft payment reminders for human review.

Overview
I asked OpenClaw how the business was doing using connected Xero records. The demo compared draft supplier bills with posted expenses in the profit and loss report and balance sheet. The posted records had too little activity to assess operating performance.
A separate receivables workflow prepared a business report through Telegram, identified customer invoices needing follow up, and created payment reminder drafts through Google Workspace and Gmail.
Finance Workflows
Analysis and reporting
I compared Xero records and financial reports, keeping draft supplier bills separate from posted expenses.
Receivables follow up
I used customer invoice data to prepare payment reminder drafts for human review.
Architecture and Tools
I used OpenClaw with a local finance skill and a Xero connection for retrieval and analysis. Telegram provided the conversation and report channel; Google Workspace tools supported reminder preparation.
I kept accounting access separate from communication permissions, so preparing a report or reminder did not require authority to change the books or send it to a customer.
